Red Cages

The caged bird sings   
with a fearful trill   
of things unknown   
but longed for still   
and his tune is heard   
on the distant hill   
for the caged bird   
sings of freedom.

Caged birds are common sight near and around sacred places for the people to let them go.  It’s a common practice for people to let the birds go as a symbolic gesture for “letting go” your troubles.
